ADVANCED MLD – MANAGEMENT OF POST PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES
Due to popular demand, we created this 28-hour Advanced MLD course to address post-plastic surgery procedures.
In this course, students will learn to properly perform Manual Lymph Drainage on clients who had Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, Breast surgeries (including mastectomies) and Brazilian Buttock Lifts. This course goes in-depth on each one of these procedures
Course Objectives
This course will assist therapists in developing treatment sequences and protocols specific to post surgery of Liposuction, Breast Surgeries, Tummy Tucks, and Brazilian Butt Lifts. This will include and discuss the techniques, contraindications, risk factors, and protocols related to these surgeries.

Plastic Surgery – Cosmetic versus Reconstructive
Liposuction – types, risks, complications
Tummy Tucks – lipectomy, types and techniques, complications
Brazilian Buttock Lift – risks, precautions and restrictions, protocols
Breast Anatomy
Breast surgery, types, and indications
Sequences of MLD treatment for all surgeries listed above

Pre-requisites
This Advanced MLD course is open to manual lymph drainage certified therapists, (certified through ACOLS or equivalent) and certified lymphedema therapists.
Tuition
The tuition for this course is $1,100.00.
Course Format
The ADVANCED MLD – MANAGEMENT OF POST PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES is offered in two formats, In-Person or Hybrid training.
If you choose to attend the course In-Person only, you will complete a home study before attending all parts in one 3 day course.
If you select the hybrid option, you will choose parts 1&2 at registration to be completed online, then select from our list of in-person courses to complete part 3 by joining the in-person course on day 2 to complete your training.
Continuing Education Credits (CEU's)
This course is 28 Contact Hours. CEU's are available. Each state and profession are different, so please contact our Admissions Department for more detailed information regarding CEU approvals. Academy of Lymphatic Studies is an approved provider for the AOTA, NCBTMB and various state professional boards. Please call for details.
